Who will teach me?
Your tutor will be fully qualified in their subject. They will have had experience teaching in a classroom and online. All tutors have the necessary DBS enhanced certificate and safety training.
What materials do you use?
For all exam courses, the official curriculum is followed. All the materials are approved by the relevant examination boards. This is to ensure that you are taught the correct content. PowerPoint Slides and Word Documents are used during the lessons. Material is personalised for you. Students have different strengths and weaknesses, so the resources reflect that.
What will you teach me?
We will focus on all aspects of your exam – grammar and vocabulary.
When can I have a lesson?
We always do our best to find a time that suits you. Our tutors try to be as flexible as possible. Slots are available every day, all year round. You can email us at: thehelpfultutors@gmail.com
How many lessons will I need?
A Placement Level Test will help us to see how many lessons you need. The number of lessons required may depend on:
- Your current level of English
- How much time you have until your exam
Normally, a student decides after a trial lesson to book a block of ten lessons. If you pay for ten lessons in advance, you get one for free! You may book as many blocks as you need.
How will you teach me?
Lessons take place online. We use Zoom, Google Meet and Bramble.
How much do lessons cost?
A 40-minute lesson costs £50. This price includes marking of your homework and a personalised Progress Report. A block of ten 40-minute lessons costs £450. When you pay in advance, you get one lesson for free.
A 60-minute lesson costs £75. This price includes marking of your homework and a personalised Progress Report. A block of ten 60-minute lessons costs £625. When you pay in advance, you get one lesson for free.
How long are the lessons?
All lessons are 40 or 60 minutes long. Lessons of different lengths may be requested.
How can I pay?
You will be sent an invoice by email.
Payment can then be made by E-Transfer, PayPal, WePay or AliPay.
Will I get a good score in my exam?
It would not be honest to guarantee that you will get the score that you want. However, we can promise to help you get the best score possible for you. If you invest time and energy on your studies, then you are likely to do well!
How can I practise in between lessons?
Completing homework and practising questions from past exam papers.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
At least 24-hours’ notice should be given by students. If 24-hours’ notice is not given, a cancellation fee of 50% is payable. Your tutor will try to reschedule the missed lesson as soon as possible.
